About Marck
Marck believes that the people of the 1st Congressional District of Kansas deserve to be represented by someone who is not beholden to people and interests outside of the 1st District. There are significant challenges that face the 1st District and the country that need to be solved to insure that future generations will be financially stronger and independent. He believes that fiscal responsibility and education are paramount to insure that our children and grandchildren are not burdened with irresponsible debt and the lack of knowledge to make good decisions for future growth.
These challenges involve the economy and jobs; national security and defense; education and budgets; energy and environment; government spending and regulation; health care and rights; and taxes and accountability to name only a few. All of these challenges are impacted by the strength of our national economy and our individual responsibility.
Marck believes that government should be limited and that its bureaucracy should be reduced to operate more effectively and efficiently. Government must also be fiscally responsible, have open discussions of issues, and be accountable to the people. Limited government must operate with lower taxes to allow private enterprise and individuals to create jobs that serve the needs of the people while building a strong economy.
For the past twenty years Marck has served as a licensed attorney for the state of Kansas. His most recent past experience has been as a legal mediator to facilitate “win-win” solutions for domestic and civil law issues. He has been involved in leadership positions with the American Red Cross Sunflower Chapter, the International Chess Institute of the Midwest in Lindsborg, the McPherson Museum and Arts Foundation, the McPherson Chamber of Commerce, and the McPherson County Bar Association.
Marck served for twenty-four years with the U.S. Air Force in the defense of our nation and retired as Lieutenant Colonel. He served as a command pilot, diplomat, and Pentagon analyst. He negotiated an international treaty for special flight operations between the United States and the former Soviet Union. As Deputy Chief for Long-Range Planning for the Air Force in the Pentagon, he supervised the air operation research plans for the first Gulf War. Marck has been awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross, the Air Medal, the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, and other medals for his flying achievements in Southeast Asia, his diplomacy in Russia, and his accomplishments in the Pentagon.
Marck is a graduate of Galva Rural High School, the U.S. Air Force Academy, the Naval Postgraduate School, and Washburn University Law School. He lives in Galva, Kansas and is married to Francine. His son, Layton, is an Eagle Scout and sophomore at Wichita State University.
